Let’s talk Truffle: seedlings, species, orchards, infrastructure, sales, research, testing, and consultation

Welcome to Silverplace

Silverplace is a Western Australian truffle nursery, led by science to enable multiple new truffle species cultivation and harvesting throughout winter, spring, and summer seasons. New species include Tuber borchii and Tuber aestivium vitt. hosted on both oak and pine trees. It is critical to understand that highly-colonised trees achieve greatest truffle harvests.

Silverplace ensures highly colonised trees by working with Murdoch University and la Universita di Bologna - famous for their mycological expertise. Our advanced techniques enable new truffle species establishment in a diversity of Australian orchard locations. There is a growing appetite for new truffle flavours in addition to Tuber melanosporum vitt.

Our world-leading collaboration assists Australian truffle growers to improve biosecurity, meet the highest standards, use cutting-edge technology, access quality seedlings, and manage truffle orchards with confidence.

Expert Advice

Our truffle expertise guides growers to establish custom tree and truffle orchards suited to their unique location. We offer consulting services enabling growers to know that your truffle orchard meets ‘best practice’, advising on all aspects for a successful truffle life cycle: from planting, orchard management, contamination testing, to sales and distribution.

Truffle Orchards

The global truffle industry is dynamic and rapidly advancing through new knowledge and technology. Our experience over decades will help growers to be confident about producing safe and quality truffles from the most suitable seedlings and best truffle species available.

Seedlings and Science

We research multiple culinary truffle species, including Winter (Tuber melanosporum Vitt.), Spring (Tuber borchii Vitt.), and Summer (Tuber aestivum Vitt.). Truffle growers must have access to the highest standards of inoculum with the correct truffle species, underpinned by peer-reviewed science. We offer advanced technologies to Western Australian current and future truffle growers.
